I celebrated my birthday earlier this month with lots of time with family and friends.

On my actual birthday, my family and I went to one of my favorite local restaurants, June BYOB. Our group of seven decided to share a variety of appetizers, and each selected our own entrée. From the specials of the night we ordered a shrimp pasta small plate. We also ordered lemon risotto with scallops, escargot and a cheese plate. The risotto was a favorite for me and my niece, who loves seafood. My sister-in-law and I decided to share the beef bourguignon and sea bream — both were perfectly hearty and cozy on the cold night. We opted to skip dessert and enjoy cake back at my house. On Saturday we went to lunch with my parents at Han Dynasty, one of my dad’s favorite restaurants. With his birthday just a few days after mine, we try to plan a joint celebration sometime in between our birthdays.

The weekend ended on a fun yet disappointing note at the Eagles wild card game. Our friends joined us for a short tailgate before making our way into the stadium. Our tickets granted us access to the Firstrust Bank Club and field access. We started in the club, enjoying drinks and snacks before making our way to our seats. After the coin toss we were able to utilize field access and spent time enjoying our up-close view. Unfortunately, the night didn’t end how we wanted and the Eagles lost, eliminating the team from the playoffs.

While an Eagles win would’ve been the ultimate birthday gift, I still enjoyed my weekend spent with my loved ones.
