Hawaiian Airlines now allows travelers to bid on business-class upgrades on flights between Hawai’i and Japan and South Korea. The platform’s Bid Up by Hawaiian Airlines service is open to ticketed main cabin guests.
Since its launch in 2016, Bid Up provided upgrades to more than 55,000 passengers. Eligible passengers receive a Bid Up invitation approximately 10 days prior to departure, inviting them to bid for available business-class seats. Winners are notified two days before departure. An itinerary with at least one segment between Hawai’i and one of 12 international destinations or one of 12 North American gateway cities is required.
“Bid Up has been extremely popular since we first launched the service in 2016, and we’re excited to offer our guests in Japan and Korea a flexible and convenient way to experience our award-winning, fully-flat business class offering,” said Theo Panagiotoulias, senior vice president of global sales and alliances, Hawaiian Airlines.
Bid Up passengers receive the many premium cabin benefits, including two complimentary checked bags, expedited check-in, access to Hawaiian Airlines Premier Clubs lounge, priority boarding, award-winning dining and more.
