A 19th-century architectural marvel on Nice’s boardwalk, Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel now invites visitors to explore beneath the waves with a new World of Silence experience led by Arthur Guérin-Boëri, a French freediver, five-time World Champion and world record holder. The star of the Sunny Boy documentary hosts a half-day freediving lesson to experience the French Riviera.

“Although breath-holding is an important aspect of the experience, it’s just one element of freediving. For me, it’s mostly about connecting with the ocean’s heartbeat,” explained Guérin-Boëri. “As divers gain confidence to venture deeper and stay submerged for longer periods, they seamlessly blend into the underwater environment, creating truly magical encounters with marine life while minimizing their impact.”

The experience begins at Passable Beach for breathwork and relaxation tutorials to prepare for the underwater adventure. Guérin-Boëri developed his method for breath control, equalization techniques and mindfulness, accessible to all levels, throughout his career as an athlete.

Back at the hotel, guests can enjoy the Oceanic Bliss Ritual at Anantara Spa for an additional fee. The treatment utilizes Thalion’s sea-inspired products in a multisensory treatment including a scrub, tailored massage and a nourishing body mask.

The half-day World of Silence experience starts at $1,536 per person, or $1,865 for two people, with group dives of up to four people available.

Wellness Comes Naturally in Greenville, South Carolina

Strolling through downtown Greenville, South Carolina, it’s easy to see why the city ranks high among the best places to live in the United States: Shops, restaurants and coffee bars line the streets; there are also performance venues, hotels and outdoor plazas. But what really sets this upstate city of just more than 78,000 residents apart are the easily accessible parks and walking trails encouraging both residents and visitors to explore the city by foot or cycle (both handcycles and adaptive bikes are available to rent). Even better, as Greenville continues to grow, city planners and major employers work together to expand these opportunities. When Greenville’s Swamp Rabbit Trail, for instance, opened in 2009, the paved, multiuse pathway ran about 9 miles from the heart of Greenville to the town of Traveler’s Rest.

Grand Hotel Des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz Review

Switzerland’s most storied ski town (the one, in fact, credited with pioneering the very concept of Alpine tourism), St. Moritz legendarily attracts the rich, the famous, celebutantes and the wannabes. Yet, there’s something compellingly earthy about the place, a town on a lake rich with natural environs, where winter sports and summer activities draw athletes and mountain lovers aplenty. As at the mountain restaurants (where some arrive by chairlift rather than muscle movement, and all types of diners and imbibers convene), Grand Hotel des Bains Kempinski St. Moritz straddles the old and new, the lavish and the understated. The hotel, one of St. Moritz’s oldest, opened as a spa haven in 1864, set atop a healing mineral spring.

Pause for a Harmonious Blend of Wellness and Nature in Hong Kong

I was illiterate when I first visited Hong Kong. Aged 17, I couldn’t understand a word of the Chinese neon signs. But 40 years later, I have changed, Hong Kong has changed, and my ability to understand the signs has changed. Now I point my phone at the unintelligible script, open a translation app, and everything magically morphs into English. The exotic becomes mundane: Shoe Store. Office Supplies. Laundry. Dentist. Insurance Broker.
