Alaska Dream Cruises, operating since 2011, effectively shut down and ceased all operations. The company, known for immersive expeditions, made the announcement Feb. 4, canceling all planned cruises.

A public statement on the cruise line’s website said, “Alaska Dream Cruises has had the privilege of sharing the wonders of Alaska and the richness of our Alaska Native heritage with incredible guests from across the globe. It has been an equal honor to work alongside extraordinary communities, partners and crew.”

When the company announced its shut down, there were no active trips ongoing, as the cruise line typically sails during Alaska’s cruise season of May–September.

Travelers who had planned cruises with Alaska Dream Cruises will receive refunds and information on next steps. The cruise line is also working with UnCruise Adventures to help travelers find other booking opportunities.

The statement concluded, “We are deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in us over the past 15 years. Thank you for the lasting relationships we’ve built and for allowing us to be a part of your Alaskan stories.”

Alaska Dream Cruises operated four small ships accommodating 40–80 passengers, offering voyagers access to narrow channels and remote areas, as well as private and native-owned land. Itineraries focused on southeast Alaska, with experiences including kayaking, skiff excursions, wildlife viewing led by expert naturalists and hiking. Trips also highlighted local and regionally sourced cuisine.

Alaska Dream Cruises’ parent company Allen Marine Tours remains operational, providing excursions in Alaska. Alaska Native-owned, Allen Marine Tours offers tours in Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Tracy Arm and Hubbard Glacier on custom-built vessels led by expert naturalists and guides. Allen Marine Tours has operated shore excursions since 1970, working with major cruise lines like Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruise Lines, Silversea Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Holland America Line and Seabourn Cruises.
