Air India announced the opening of its brand-new signature lounge, The Maharaja Lounge, at San Francisco International Airport in International Terminal A. The opening marks the airline’s first signature lounge outside of India.

The lounge, designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates, blends modern luxury with unique Indian heritage elements. Standout features include Aviator’s Bar, a nostalgic, speakeasy-style cocktail lounge with a custom architectural ceiling and hand-picked cellar of premium whiskies and wines; a first-class sanctuary complete with a “lounge within a lounge” zone reserved exclusively for first-class passengers; and dynamic live cooking stations and curated culinary spaces capturing the warmth of Indian hospitality.

Custom art installations were uniquely constructed from upcycled aircraft components to make for an even more exceptional space. In total, the lounge spans more than 3,300 square feet, with tarmac views from various seating and dining sections.
“The opening of the Maharaja Lounge at San Francisco builds on the recent launch of our flagship lounge at Delhi, marking the beginning of a new generation of signature lounges for Air India,” said Campbell Wilson, CEO and managing director, Air India. “North America has long been a key pillar of Air India’s network, and our continued investments reflect both, this commitment and our ambition to introduce a new standard of travel experiences in the region in time to come.”
