The Shepherd Mayfair will open its doors this year in one of London’s most characterful enclaves, bringing boutique hospitality to the neighborhood. Part of Elegant Hotel Collection, the new hotel will feature 82 guestrooms and suites across six floors, spanning 33,600 square feet. Led by Timothy Shepherd, the hotel will serve as the gateway to historic Shepherd Market.

Guestrooms and suites reflect the building’s townhouse origins, with layouts responding to proportions of each space. Interiors feature warm timber finishes with lighter color palettes and curved upholstery. Furniture was designed with a travel-led sensibility, with desks crafted to convert into dressing tables or chess tables, complemented by concealed lighting to create a relaxed environment. Each room includes a banker’s lamp and window seat overlooking Mayfair. Bathrooms are finished in marble, with select rooms including baths and separate seating areas.

Three defined dining and bar concepts will also grace the property: Fayre, a modern, all-day dining destination inspired by the historic Mayfair fair; Teddy’s, a hidden, late-night cocktail bar on the lower ground floor; and The Lounge, a café-style space serving guests morning to evening.

Guests will feel transported back to the 18^th and 19^th centuries thanks to architecture honoring Mayfair mansions of the era. Details and references to local personalities will also be integrated into the hotel, such as discreet braille and Morse elements referencing the area’s wartime intelligence history and Down Street station.
