A new study conducted by Save on Energy shows the U.S. cities with the most unpredictable weather — and it may be worth avoiding their respective airports.

Using a variety of sources, the study looked at factors like temperature, rain, snow and wind, all of which can have powerful effects on the ability of airplanes to take off and land on time and safely.

The cities with the most unpredictable weather were:

1. Sioux Falls, S.D.
2. Minneapolis, Minn.
3. St. Paul, Minn.
4. Omaha, Neb.
5. Des Moines, Iowa
6. Madison, Wis.
7. Lincoln, Neb.
8. Cedar Rapids, Iowa
9. Rockford, Ill.
10. Chicago, Ill.

On the flip side, these cities had the most stable weather:

1. Honolulu, Hawai’i
2. Oxnard, Calif.
3. Chula Vista, Calif.
4. Salinas, Calif.
5. San Diego, Calif.
6. Thousand Oaks, Calif.
7. San Francisco, Calif.
8. Irvine, Calif.
9. Torrance, Calif.
10. Huntington Beach, Calif.
