Have 141 days to spare and eager to see as much of the world as possible? A new around-the-world cruise is your best bet as the vessel traverses oceans and seas to visit 35 countries in four-and-a-half months.
Viking Cruises plans to launch the first-ever global cruise, which will depart from Miami Dec. 17. From Miami, the cruise will travel to Havana, Cuba, then turn west and sail through the Panama Canal. On the Pacific side, the ship will dock in Los Angeles, Tahiti, New Zealand and Australia. Onward to Asia, there will be stops in Indonesia, Malaysia, China and India.
From Asia, the cruise will continue westward to North Africa (Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria) before terminating in Greenwich, England, nearly five months after departure.
The cruise comes with a price tag of approximately $38,000, which includes on-land excursions and private bedrooms with king-sized beds, heated floors and flat-screen televisions.
