Starting this spring, VIA Rail Canada passengers will be able to pass travel time watching life-streaming videos on their laptops, smartphones or tablets. The new on-board entertainment option on the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor comes in addition to complimentary WiFi already in place.
On-board, live-streaming video is made possible through a partnership with CBC/Radio-Canada and the National Film Board, a publicly funded film producer and distributor. The system also allow passengers to view Canadian television shows and news broadcasts. The selection of on-board shows, in French and English, includes free CBC programing, animated and documentary movies from the National Film Board of Canada and the Heritage Minute series of short films on Canadian History.
