Hotels.com released the results of its annual Loved by Guests Awards, in which 969 U.S. hotels were recognized.
The survey revealed New York, Houston and Chicago are home to the most award-winning hotels in the United States, and U.S. hotels were also named best for LGBTQ, business, ski and family offerings.
Fifteen hotels in New York received a gold award, earning 4.7 stars or higher. The Mark, Hotel Giraffe, The Library Hotel and Baccarat Hotel and Residences New York all received 4.8 stars, with the Q&A Residential Hotel, The Peninsula New York and 1 Hotel Central Park coming in with 4.7 stars.
In the South, Houston travelers provided the highest ratings for SpringHill Suites, 4.9 stars, followed by Hotel Granduca with 4.8 stars and the Houstonian Hotel with 4.7 stars.
Chicago also offers some great accommodation options with The Sono Chicago receiving a perfect 5-star rating. Other highly rated options were The Langham, Chicago with 4.9 stars and the Talbott Hotel with 4.8.
Coming in fourth and fifth for number of highly rated hotels were Key West with 10 and Charleston with eight.
As home to more than 25 million genuine guest reviews, this year’s best hotels were determined based on Hotels.com’s trusted reviews. Worldwide, hotels in the United States were the biggest gold award winners. Other top countries included the United Kingdom with 171 gold-award hotels, Italy with 153, Canada with 86 and Spain with 70.
According to the survey, the destinations around the world where travelers are most likely to check into a gold-award-winning hotel are London, Rome, Prague, Florence, Venice and Hanoi.
