Take the Slow Road through Mallorca

One of Spain’s Balearic Islands, Mallorca is ideally suited for a walking holiday. Butterfield & Robinson’s Mallorca Walking expedition (six days, five nights) follows a route that begins and ends in Palma. Often compared to Italy’s Amalfi Coast, the edge of Mallorca is riddled with coastal pathways, romantic coves and lush citrus groves. Explore the region’s foods and wines, wander along farmer’s trails through orchards, trek to the Alcudia Peninsula and the dramatic landscape of Cap de Formentor, lunch aboard a private sailboat and follow a medieval pilgrimage trail through olive and citrus orchards.

Lodging includes the Son Brull Hotel and Spa in Pollensa, and La Residencia, a 17th-century manor house that allegedly even draws the King of Spain and members of the British Royal Family. Departure dates include May, September and October. Prices, which vary by departure season, begin at $5,895 (with a single supplement of $1,800).

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.

Vinpearl Landmark 81, Autograph Collection Review

I am looking out at Vietnam’s largest city from the country’s tallest building. Sitting in a comfortable chair facing the floor-to-ceiling window, I have taken in the view in daylight and darkness at dusk and dawn. It’s ever-changing and always hypnotic.
