Through June 30, Broadway fans find Sofitel New York splayed in musical theater finery, with a special suite and lobby art gallery.
The Official Hotel Partner for the 2018 Tony Awards, Sofitel New York curated 36 iconic posters by theater poster art legend Frank “Fraver” Verlizzo. Displayed in the lobby, each depicts a Tony Award-winning or -nominated production. An anecdote from Fraver accompanies each piece. Posters on display include those created for Sunday in the Park with George, The Lion King and Sweeney Todd. The Fraver Art Gallery display opens ahead of the release of Fraver by Design, a book detailing Fraver’s 50 years of artwork.
“Through the Fraver Art Gallery we have a unique opportunity to honor one of the industry’s greatest talents,” said Marie-Paule Nowlis, hotel manager, Sofitel New York. “We encourage guests, local residents and visitors to New York City to come and see these iconic works by a man who has undeniably helped shape the face of theater.”
Additionally, Sofitel New York introduces the Tony Awards Suite, available through July 15. The luxury terrace suite offers views of the Manhattan skyline, memorabilia and Tony-themed amenities such as a Tony song book, award-winning scripts, Playbills, programs and more. Rates start at $2,000 per night.
For an even more luxurious stay, the $100K Tony Awards experience includes a stay in the Tony Awards Suite, June 4–11, along with two tickets to the Tony Awards Honors Cocktail, two VIP tickets to the 2018 Tony Awards, red carpet styling by Christian Siriano, hair and makeup by Nomi Beauty, two tickets to the official Tony Awards gala and after-party and two house seats for three 2018 Tony-nominated performances. Sofitel New York also makes a $50,000 donation to the Broadway League and The American Theatre Wing on guests’ behalf.
The $100K Tony Awards experience is valid for booking through May 25.
Other Tony Awards experiences available to Le Club AccorHotels members are the Ultimate Broadway experience and 72nd Annual Tony Awards Ceremony & Gala experience. The former includes two tickets to the Tony Honors Cocktail and two tickets to see Hello Dolly at Shubert Theater. The latter includes a welcome cocktail, professional hair and makeup, two VIP tickets to the Tony Awards ceremony and gala and round-trip limousine service.
