My flight from Beijing didn’t arrive in Bangkok until close to 12 a.m., and it arrived without my luggage, which delayed my hotel arrival until 1:30 a.m. After 24 hours of travel, coupled with the stress of my lost luggage, I was exhausted, but eager to see the grand hotel. As soon as I stepped out of the taxi, a bellhop greeted me with “Ms. Gallagher, you’ve made it! Welcome!” He took the few bags I had and ushered me into the hotel. My room key was quickly procured and I explained my luggage situation. I was told not to worry, they would take care of it and off I went to enjoy a deep sleep in my comfortable bed.
My room was quite spacious and the bathroom had a stall shower and tub. Across from my bed hung a large plasma screen TV with a DVD player. The TV didn’t receive many channels, but I did find a few English-language options. In-room wireless Internet was available for an hourly or daily fee.
Although my stay was short, only two nights, it was very comfortable and the staff made it clear they were there to help. I ordered room service twice and both times it arrived in less than 15 minutes and tasted wonderful.
I only had one day to explore Bangkok. I arrived back at the hotel that afternoon to find a welcome message under my door. My luggage had been located and would arrive that evening.
Overall, The Four Seasons is a delightful, calm oasis in the bustling city of Bangkok. I only regret that I did not have more time to explore all it offered.
