Designed by an active California girl and made for women across the world, Shaya Brims aims to create a line of stylish, yet totally active hats for ladies who love the sun and taking care of their skin.
The company set out to create a hat that did not exist — one with an innovative design providing protection for outdoor enthusiasts, that’s waterproof, lightweight, UV-resistant and stylish.
The technology consists of flexible, active foam with a soft-touch coating that is 100 percent waterproof, highly UV resistant, lightweight and non-toxic. The Shaya Brims Hat with SwimBrim Technology was built to live outside and protect your skin in and out of the water without losing its shape.
Upon the advice of her dermatologist, Shaya Brims’ founder Sabina Sood began wearing hats 10 years ago. She believes in being active as a family, but in the summer could never take her hats in the pool without them getting soggy, uncomfortable and shapeless. She decided to create a wide-brimmed hat to protect the neck, face and chest and could transition comfortably from pool to poolside without losing its shape.
Shaya Brims hats are available on Kickstarter at a $25–35 early bird promotional price (MSRP $89.99–99.99). Styles running through the campaign include black, red and white classic brim hats. The Kickstarter campaign needs to reach its goal of $5,000 by Feb. 19 to be successful or they will not ship any hats. You can contribute to the goal and get a Shaya Brims hat here.
