Jeno and Jena are the newest staff additions at Hotel Jen Orchardgateway and Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore, but neither expect a tip when they arrive with your room service order. Either fulfilling your high-tech fantasies or feeding your tech-takes-over-the-world fears, Jeno and Jena are both robots. The autonomous Relay robots created by Savioke have specific duties including delivering room service and satisfying amenity requests — such as extra towels or other items — within 15 minutes of the request being made.
Moving at a pace of about 1.5 miles per hour, each robot can ride elevators and make phone calls. Standing about three feet in height, the robots navigate obstacles by way of built-in sensors. And both are well dressed: Jena wears a scarf and Jeno wears a jacket, each designed by Toby Tan from the Band of Doodlers, an art community self-described on its website as “white space bandits.”
When an order is received, the food or item is secured in a compartment in the robot with a PIN number. The guestroom number is then keyed in for delivery. The robot is routed to the elevator, traveling onward to the specific floor and room. At the door, the robot calls the guest and automatically opens the storage compartment when the guest opens the door. Jeno and Jena also wait five minutes before returning to the lobby docking station. The guest completes the transaction experience by pushing an All Set button command, and has the option of rating the service from one to five stars. If five stars are chosen, the robot responds by dancing and displaying the word “Yay!” on its screen. Dancing with the robot is an entirely personal decision.

Apr 17, 2024Amansara Review
It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling
The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips. From Piraeus port, you can access Hydra, Spetses, Aegina and Poros directly. Come explore these stunning islands with us and find the inspiration to plan your next trip to these islands. Hydra Hydra town curves around a slope overlooking the Argosaronic Gulf like an amphitheater and is considered one of the most romantic destinations in Greece. Most unique to the island is its lack of vehicles. People on the island get around on mules and donkeys as well as water taxis, making for a peaceful and laid-back day. Hydra lies a two-hour ferry ride from Piraeus port in Athens.
