With a planned spring opening — and catering specifically to luxury business travelers — the new Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel encompasses the brand’s new global design philosophy of Wanderlust. Elements within the newly built 348-room hotel include a blend of high-low wood and concrete design features by Jeffrey Beers International, and digital components such as an entrance hall with specially curated digital imagery that reacts to the motion of those passing through. A virtual concierge at the 34th Street entrance utilizes futuristic technology activated by pointing or foot tapping that allows guests to explore points of interest in the surrounding area.

Above the hotel, LED screens stretch four stories into the sky in the form of a digital clock that changes design each hour. The lobby includes a dedicated hotel Navigator lifestyle concierge staffed by local experts. The sixth-floor Club Lounge includes original art; while the 8,000-square-foot, fifth-floor terrace ranks as the largest outdoor space in Manhattan, complete with two bars, a retractable roof and private cabanas. Among the 348 sophisticated guestrooms are terrace suites with their own outdoor areas. Room details include gradient frosted-glass showers, Italian marble bathrooms and floor-to-ceiling windows. The concept of “business unusual” extends to 4,500 square feet of convertible meeting and lounge space.
