Carlson Rezidor, one of the world’s largest hotel groups, announced plans to open the upscale Radisson Blu Le Vendome Hotel Cape Town in South Africa within the next six months. The former Hotel Le Vendome is currently undergoing renovations to be repositioned as one of Cape Town’s leading upper upscale addresses. Located in the popular area of the Platinum Mile in the suburb of Sea Point, the property features 143 guestrooms and suites, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, an all-day dining restaurant with a terrace and bar and meeting and event space. The new addition brings Carlson Rezidor’s portfolio in Cape Town to five hotels in operation and under development. “The property will further strengthen our offer in Cape Town, which shows an increasing demand for sophisticated business and leisure hotels. All across the African continent we now operate and develop 53 hotels, and we will grow further — the emerging market of Africa is one of our most important regions for future business development”, said Wolfgang M. Neumann, president and CEO of Carlson Rezidor.
