Qatar Airways will continue to grow its route network in Africa with new non-stop service to Eritrea’s capital city of Asmara this December. The carrier will offer twice-weekly flights between Doha’s new Hamad International Airport and Asmara International Airport from Dec. 4 with Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring 12 seats in business class.
“We are very pleased to be reinforcing our presence in Africa with the launch of scheduled flights to Asmara, allowing us to further expand our business on the African continent,” said Akbar Al Baker, CEO, Qatar Airways. “There is clearly demand and huge potential to and from Eritrea, one of the many underserved markets in Africa.”
Qatar currently operates a fleet of 134 aircraft to 144 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
