Lufthansa is offering early seat reservations for tickets in select economy-class booking classes — but the convenience comes at a price.
Effective April 28, long-haul passengers flying on tickets booked in W, S, T, L and K classes may opt to pay an extra €25 (about $35) per seat to book seats in advance. Passengers in the designated booking classes who prefer to take their chances may still opt to reserve seats at no charge beginning 23 hours before departure.
Advance seat reservations remain free of charge for passengers traveling on tickets in other economy booking classes. Advance seat reservations will also be free of charge in premium economy-, business- and first-class and, in all classes, for HON Circle members and Senators.
