Norwegian Reveals U.S.-Spain Routes

Sep 23, 2016
Daily

Norwegian begins flights from four U.S. cities to Barcelona (BCN), starting June 2017. The new offerings from Fort Lauderdale (FLL), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR) and Oakland (OAK) follow the latest Norwegian route between the United States and Paris (CDG), launched in July. Plans for a flight between Oakland and Copenhagen (CPH) are in the works as well. The route from Los Angeles launches first, on June 5, followed by Newark on June 6, Oakland, June 7, and Fort Lauderdale, Aug. 22. The routes from Los Angeles and Oakland operate twice weekly until late August, when an additional weekly flight is added. The route from Newark, Norwegian’s first, operates twice weekly through the summer as well, increasing to four times weekly in the fall. The route from Fort Lauderdale operates twice weekly throughout the year. “Continued U.S. expansion is key to Norwegian’s global strategy, and we’re excited to offer affordable fares to even more nonstop European destinations so that travelers can enjoy our award-winning onboard service. We now offer a greater amount of non-stop routes from the U.S. to Europe than any other European airline, and we look forward to continue adding additional routes and frequencies so that American travelers have even more choices,” said Thomas Ramdahl, chief commercial officer, Norwegian Airlines. “We welcome this initiative of Norwegian which is undoubtedly an important development in connectivity with Spain and a qualitative leap in regards to the U.S. West Coast, where San Francisco will be connected for the first time with an airport in Spain. These new routes from Barcelona will allow the continuing growth of more than two digits experienced by the outbound U.S. tourism traveling to Spain in the last two years. Spain is recognized and loved by many Americans for its history, culture, gastronomy and people, so we are convinced that the flow of Americans traveling to our country will continue to increase,” said Elisa Sainz, consul for tourism affairs, Tourist Office of Spain.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.

Vinpearl Landmark 81, Autograph Collection Review

I am looking out at Vietnam’s largest city from the country’s tallest building. Sitting in a comfortable chair facing the floor-to-ceiling window, I have taken in the view in daylight and darkness at dusk and dawn. It’s ever-changing and always hypnotic.
