Celebrating its 30th season, The New Israeli Opera is also marking the milestone of two decades performing at the Opera House of the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center. The new season features 11 operas, including Israeli Opera’s debut production of La Rondine. Also stage-bound: Nabucco, The Barber of Seville, The Tsar’s Bride, The Bayadere, The Marriage of Figaro and L’Elisir d’Amore.
Outside of town, the Opera Festival at Masada — a dramatic performance venue — will feature Tosca and Carmina Burana (June 4–13). Additional outdoor summer productions will take place in Jerusalem and Acre. Non-operatic performances and events will include the annual International Dance Series, Classical Music Series, weekly Children’s Opera Hour and several jazz and world music concerts.
