Lufthansa announced new destinations for the winter season. Starting Nov. 26, travelers will be able to fly the airline to Tromsø (TOS), and beginning Dec. 17, to Ivalo (IVL).
Both flights will be offered on Saturdays only, and will complement the existing Lufthansa service from Munich (MUC) to Kittilä (KTT). Combined, passengers will have access to three of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe’s High North.
Tromsø, located in Norway more than 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle, offers unique and beautiful attractions, from the most northern botanical garden in the world to the Northern Lights. Popular tourist favorites include dogsledding and other outdoor activities. An Airbus A319, offering 138 seats in two classes through March 25, 2017, will service the new Lufthansa flight. The Saturday flights will land at 1:15 p.m., and depart for return trips to Frankfurt (FRA) at 5:35 p.m.
Ivalo features the northernmost airport in the European Union and is a popular Lapland sporting destination, particularly for skiers. An Airbus A319 will also service the Ivalo route, with 138 seats in two classes through March 25. The flight to Finland will arrive at 2:10 p.m., and depart for Frankfurt at 3:05 p.m., landing in Germany at 5:35 p.m.
Flights on the new routes start at $237.

Apr 17, 2024Amansara Review
It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
