Lufthansa is taking in-flight dining to new heights with the introduction of restaurant-style dining. Passengers seated in the business-class cabin on long-haul flights will enjoy more personalized service; flight attendants take individual orders and service plates replace trays and flight trollies for meals served directly from the galley.
Following an introductory run on Airbus A380 routes to New York (JFK) and Miami (MIA), the upscale meal service is now also offered on A380 service to Houston (IAH), Johannesburg (JNB), Los Angeles (LAX), Delhi (DEL), Beijing (PEK), San Francisco (SFO), Shanghai (PVG), Seoul (ICN) and Singapore (SIN). The service will expand to Boeing 747-400 and 747-8 from Frankfurt (FRA) on Oct. 1 and the Airbus A340 fleet from Frankfurt and Munich (MUC) to Asia and the Middle East on Oct. 25.

Apr 17, 2024Amansara Review
It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.

I am looking out at Vietnam’s largest city from the country’s tallest building. Sitting in a comfortable chair facing the floor-to-ceiling window, I have taken in the view in daylight and darkness at dusk and dawn. It’s ever-changing and always hypnotic.
