Lufthansa passengers can now experience the airline’s new first-class service on all long-haul flights from Munich. The airline recently completed a retrofit of its Munich-based Airbus A340-600s long-haul fleet.
“Lufthansa has thus taken another major step towards its goal of becoming the first 5-star airline in the western hemisphere,” said Thomas Klühr, member, Lufthansa German Airlines Board, Finances & Hub Munich.
Lufthansa’s new first class and its corresponding range of services earned the highest recognition worldwide and has been honored with several international awards. In the Skytrax Star Ranking, the new travel class was awarded five stars, recognizing outstanding quality, first-rate comfort and individual service.
The carrier will continue to retrofit the first- and business-class cabins on the rest of its long-haul fleet this summer. By the end of 2015, all Lufthansa long-range aircraft will feature the new premium economy cabin.
