London’s hotly anticipated new visitor attraction, Shrek’s Adventure! London, opens this July, but tickets are now on sale. And, even the ticket office is making a splash — the edible ogre-sized Gingerbread House Ticket Office is located on London’s South Bank. It’s made of 700 real gingerbread biscuit tiles and 100 kilograms of icing.

The summertime opening of Shrek’s Adventure! London will likely bring more international and domestic visitors to the capital. The beloved movie character comes to London with a brand-new adventure, complete with fairy-tale characters, themed shows and sets, a 4D bus ride, dramatic special effects and new DreamWorks animation.

“We are confident that the addition of Shrek’s Adventure! London along with a vibrant and diverse calendar of summer events will further boost London’s visitor economy as the capital continues to go from strength to strength,” said Gordon Innes, CEO, London & Partners.

Other highlights in London this summer include the third-annual Prudential Ride London, a two-day cycling festival for families, and the Sunset Safari at ZSL London Zoo, allowing visitors to check out more than 750 species after hours. The Summer Opening at Buckingham Palace will feature displays throughout the State Rooms of the settings for state visits, receptions, garden parties, investitures and private audiences. At the National Portrait Gallery, the Portraits of an Icon exhibit will be a look at the life and career of Audrey Hepburn.
