The June 1 opening of Hyatt Playa del Carmen showcases 6,000 square feet of luxurious spa space. Mayan-themed therapies such as the Mayan Body Scrub with honey and yogurt incorporate fresh, local ingredients, while the area’s powerful geologic cenotes, freshwater sinkholes sacred to the Mayan people as a place for purification and cleansing, serve as an overall theme. Each of the eight treatment rooms is named for a peaceful Mayan tradition, including Akumal, Xonoti and Kantunchin. The serene décor reflects the regional landscape with shades of green woven throughout.
iPod dock stations in all treatment rooms make it possible to select your own background music. Some rooms offer views of the surrounding mangrove jungle. The spa also features hot and cold plunges, a sauna, a eucalyptus steam room and fiber-optic chromotherapy showers. A soothing relaxation space includes a replica of a cenote plunge, while the wellness center features Technogym equipment and a workout studio for yoga, Pilates, Crossfit and meditation classes. Cacao and fresh pineapple juice are among spa guest amenities.

Apr 17, 2024Amansara Review
It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
