Hainan Airlines announced a non-stop service between Chongqing (CKG) and New York (JFK) launching Oct. 20, marking the first non-stop service between a city in the western part of China and New York.
“With the new service, travelers will be able to fly directly from Chongqing to both of the U.S.’s coasts, East and West, via Hainan Airlines. The opening of the new route is expected to significantly facilitate exchanges and collaborations concerning culture, the economy, and politics between the two countries and to further improve Chongqing’s international role as a key aviation hub,” said Wang Shaoping, vice chairman, Hainan Airlines.
The new service is Hainan Airlines’ 13th direct North American service. It will offer round-trip flights twice a week, departing Chongqing on Wednesdays and Fridays at 22:00 and arriving in New York at 0:50 the following day. Return flights depart New York on Thursdays and Sundays at 2:50 and arrive in Chongqing at 6:35 the following day.
