With flu season upon us, Uber is testing a new delivery program — and it’s better than a bowl of homemade chicken soup.
UberHEALTH, a partnership between Uber and Harvard Medical School’s Vaccine Finder program, today delivered free flu shots on-demand to people in three test cities — Boston, New York and Washington, D.C. To request the vaccine, participants simply accessed the UberHEALTH option via the app. In response, an SUV delivered vaccine (enough for up to 10 people at the location) along with a registered nurse to administer the shot.
Vaccinations on offer were appropriate for people aged 4 and up, and administered by a registered nurse from Passport Health. All paperwork and consent forms stayed between the Passport Health and the patient.
