Find Inner Peace On A Yoga Retreat At Ashford Castle

Jul 6, 2015
Daily / Feature

This fall, Ireland’s renowned Ashford Castle invites visitors to unwind with its first-ever Yoga Retreat, hosted by celebrated yoga instructor Ata Baechler of Insens Geneva.

Nestled on the shores of Lough Corrib and the River Cong, with a calming backdrop of woodlands, lake, river and mountains, the newly restored Ashford Castle is located in a tranquil environment ideal for this restorative retreat. While enjoying the luxurious amenities of one of Ireland’s most magnificent castle properties, guests can take the time to slow down and find calm through direct forms of yoga and meditation.

In addition to including overnight accommodations, daily meals with gourmet organic options and transfers from Knock or Shannon Airport, the three-night yoga special taking place Nov. 19–22 includes yoga classes and meditation sessions and an Indian head massage for guests to relax and rejuvenate.

Additionally, participants also have access to all the facilities of the 5-star Ashford Castle resort, including spa, cinema, billiards room, archery, horseback riding, clay target shooting, lake cruising, kayaking, zip lining, nature walking, golf, tennis and Ireland’s first school of falconry.

“The fast pace of modern living can leave us disregarding our own health and wellbeing, so we’re excited to be welcoming Ata Baechler to Ashford Castle and offering guests the opportunity to slow down in peaceful surroundings and ultimate luxury,” said Niall Rochford, general manager, Ashford Castle.

The yoga special is available from $1,325 per person.

Phnom Penh as we imagined it stretches beneath us: a picturesque, low-rise mix of Southeast Asian and French Colonial styles. When the inhabitants of those buildings look back at us here in the Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Chip Mong Tower, they see the future.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
