Revel in crisp fall air and autumn color with Bicycle Adventures’ cycling trips through some of the most scenic spots in the United States. The San Juan Islands Six-Day Classic (departures on Sept. 14, 21 and 28; from $2,995 per person) sets off from Seattle and takes in lavender fields, Friday Harbor and a shark reef sanctuary. The four-day Wallowas & Hells Canyon tour through the Wallowa Mountains and Eagle Cap Wilderness showcases the region between Oregon’s Blue Mountains and the Snake River (Sept. 15, from $2,195 per person), while the four-day John Day and Painted Hills route in eastern Oregon travels through the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument (Sept. 20, $1,984 per person).

Tours are rated Classic (25–50 miles per day), Classic Plus (50–60 miles per day) and Epic (70-plus miles a day including demanding terrain). Bicycles are included in touring prices, with a choice of road bikes and hybrids. For mountain routes, mountain bikes are provided. If you prefer, you’re also welcome to bring your own bike. Dietary restrictions are accommodated, along with non-cycling partners who can participate in arranged alternative activities such as hiking, wine tastings and spa visits.
