Dutch Treat

Daily / Feature

KLM and Amsterdam’s Hotel De L’Europe are bringing the Dutch carrier’s World Business Class dining to new heights this fall, serving a selection of dishes from two-Michelin star Chef Richard van Oostenbrugge.

Offered Oct. 26–Jan. 22, the menu boasts international flare and quintessential Dutch flavors, combining classic simplicity with a worldly sophistication. Recently dubbed Chef of the Year by Gault Millau, Chef Oostenbrugge’s dishes include chicken medallions in Thai coconut sauce, Dutch fillet of sole with sauce of mussel and mousse of Manhari chocolate and black currants.

“We are delighted to be working with Chef Richard van Oostenbrugge of De L’Europe’s famed Bord’Eau restaurant,” said Paul Elich, executive vice president inflight services, KLM. “Like KLM, he is Dutch with a flare of international allure.”

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. Vinpearl Landmark 81, Autograph Collection Review

I am looking out at Vietnam’s largest city from the country’s tallest building. Sitting in a comfortable chair facing the floor-to-ceiling window, I have taken in the view in daylight and darkness at dusk and dawn. It’s ever-changing and always hypnotic.
