The Texan city’s tourism website announced it jumped two spaces from last year’s rankings to No. 6.

The 50 Best Cities to Meet in the United States is presented by Cvent, based on the event management firm’s online meeting and booking activity.

“We are honored to be ranked among the top meetings and events destination cities in the country by Cvent,” said Phillip Jones, president and CEO, VisitDallas. “Earning a spot on this ranking validates the significant effort we put into making Dallas an ideal location for corporate meetings, a critical driver of local economic activity.”

The announcement and the jump comes in the year following one where record numbers of tourists visited the city, VisitDallas said.

Cvent surveyed more than 5,000 U.S. cities in compiling the list and tracked numbers Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2017. Criteria for the decision included the number of room nights spent in cities, unique request proposals, profile views and more.

Orlando took the top spot, followed by Las Vegas and Chicago in spots two and three, respectively.

Mindfulness City in Kingdom of Bhutan Unveiled as Future Economic Hub

In front of an audience of 30,000 Kingdom of Bhutan residents and officials, His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck presented his vision for a new economic hub in Bhutan. Located between India to the south and China to the north, Bhutan is one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. Bhutan came late to global tourism. It opened its borders to international visitors in 1974 and, while tourism definitely increased, residents are enduring “light” rush-hour traffic in Thimphu, its capital city, as the only Asian capital without traffic lights.
