When Mondrian London at Sea Containers opens on Sept. 30, it will become the first Mondrian-branded hotel boutique hotel outside of the United States. Designed by Tom Dixon, the hotel will house Dandelyan, a seasonal cocktail bar with award-winning mixologist Ryan Chetiyawardana at the helm.
Cocktail creations — including Puffed Grains and Chocolate (Mr Lyan x Dewar’s 12 Scotch, toasted grain soda, chocolate, curacao and pink peppercorn) and South Bank (Bacardi Heritage Edition, lemon verbena, lemon, grapefruit & honey bitters and pink salt soda) — incorporate flavorful fruits, vegetables and herbs combined to elevate classic drinks with reimagined flavor combinations.

At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
