Cambodia launched the first railway service linking Phnom Penh International Airport to capital city. The development comes amid the country’s recent passenger rail developments to link its border towns.
New diesel- and electric-powered trains will run along a 10-mile route from the airport. The airport service will be free of charge to passengers until August, when fares will be announced.
Three new high-speed trains will be in operation at the end of the initial service period, and will be lighter than the old trains currently in service. The new trains will be able to carry 56 seated passengers and 45 to 50 standing. Travel time will also be reduced from 22–39 minute to 22–25 minutes. The new trains are scheduled to arrive in June.

Apr 17, 2024Amansara Review
It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
