Travelers living in the United Kingdom now have easier access to lesser-known hotspots along the Mediterranean coast just in time for the summer holiday season, which, in Europe, is essentially the entire month of August.
British Airways launched new routes from London Heathrow Airport to remote locations due south. On May 3, British Airways began a service from London to Montpellier, France (MPL), available twice per week. In June, British Airways started serving Brindisi, Italy (BDS), on the Adriatic Sea, and the island of Zante (ZTH), Greece, twice per week.
British Airways will also serve the ancient Roman city of Pula (PUY) in northwestern Croatia beginning July 1, with twice-weekly flights from London Heathrow.
Other less-visited locations now served by British Airways with twice-weekly flights include Tallinn, Estonia (TLL), and Murcia (RMU) in southeastern Spain. Further west, the airline now flies to New Orleans (MSY) and Santiago (SCL), both began in January.
As low-cost carriers continue to expand their routes further west, British Airways sees it as an opportunity to expand as well in an effort to compete and keep customers.

Mar 27, 2024Hyatt Regency Chicago Unveils Renovations This Spring
Half a century ago, several architecturally significant buildings not only changed the face of Chicago but also reintroduced the city as a world-class travel destination. Roughly a year after the Sears Tower (now Willis Tower) emerged as the then world’s tallest building, Hyatt Regency Chicago opened its doors in August 1974. A second tower was constructed in 1980, making it one of the most ambitious hotels the city had seen, down to its above-ground skyway and underground concourse.
