I often travel for work and leisure and, on board, I frequently volunteer to help lift and store carry-on bags or close finicky overhead bins. I assist those in need to ensure we are not delayed by something as silly as a slow passenger or a cranky overhead bin door. There is often some surrounding passenger who yells out “You need to check those,” but that’s when I get up, slide a few things over and make it all fit so we can simply take off. While it makes me look like a good Samaritan, I just want us in the wheels-up position.

Oh, and those overhead bins never need to be slammed. A firm push has far more success and is more civilized.
