American Airlines and US Airways merged their two frequent-flyer loyalty programs into one this past weekend. The combined program takes American’s frequent-flyer loyalty program name, AAdvantage. Emails were sent out about a month ago confirming the two numbers with membership and asking members to click “ok” to merge the two programs. I already received an email a couple days ago informing me my two programs have been merged. No longer can one book through the US Airways Dividend Miles program. As a Philadelphian speaking for all of us who often use both airlines, we are looking forward to what American Airlines will bring to the market in terms of service. US Airways was a low-cost carrier with a first class, and services were very low.
